All guests are expected to be courteous and consider their neighbors when using the cottage with respect to noise. Many families vacation with young children and will appreciate quiet at a reasonable time as this is a share property. Quiet time should be respected from 10pm to 8am.
Each cottage has it’s own policy with regards to allowing pets. For those properties that do allow pets, all pets must be clearly stated upon Reservation for pre-approval. Any damage occurring to the property as a result of a pet, will be the responsibility of the Registered Guest. YOU MUST
CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR PET.
Outdoor fires are only allowed if the wind is blowing away from the property. Firewood is not included in your rental fee (regardless of finding any on the property – you are to purchase firewood or bring it with you). Pour water on all fires, to ensure they are completely out. Do not make a large fire as nearby trees and brush can catch on fire.
There is to be no smoking whatsoever (of any substance) inside the homes or on the porch furniture. If you are looking for a place to smoke, please use the lawn area or driveway and ensure that all cigarettes are disposed of properly and not inside the home garbage.
Bathroom/ Septic System:
The cottages operate on a septic system which is very sensitive. The basic rule is DO NOT PUT ANYTHING down the toilet other than natural waste and toilet paper (and be conservative with the paper). Use one-ply paper whenever possible.
No paper towels, Kleenex, tampons, pads, matches, hair, grease, strong chemicals, etc. These are guaranteed to back up the system and sadly ruin your visit.
The septic bed (identified outdoors as the large, section of the front and rear yard lawns) can be easily damaged by excessive weight. Do not drive or park on the lawn.
Do not drive over or park any vehicles in this area including in front of the front cottage porch.
Septic systems have a maximum capacity with regard to use (i.e. number of persons, washrooms, laundry, etc.).
Do not exceed the maximum number of persons determined for this cottage and indicated on your rental agreement.
Thank you for your consideration in leaving the cottage (inside and out including the bon fire areas) thoroughly clean and tidy, as it was for your arrival. Please remember that it is required that the cottage be left thoroughly clean and tidy. If the property requires additional cleaning following your departure, deductions will be made from your security/damage deposit to cover the cost.
